I offer a four-session coaching programme designed to make any employer say “Wow. When can you start and how much do we need to pay you to convince you to work for us?”
Session 1: Understanding who you are and what you want to get out of your career. It’s so important to know what brings you joy, fills you with life, gives you energy and makes you feel like you matter to the world. Knowing this is the first important step in choosing a role that’s right for you. By the end of this first coaching session you’ll be able to spot opportunities that excite you.
Session 2: Preparing the application. Bring an advertisement you’d like to apply for. We’ll talk through it and clarify the value you can add in this role so you can sell this to the organisation. It’s important the organisation has provided you with a clear job role and person specification. We cannot work without this. By the end of this second coaching session you’ll have a clearer idea how to spot good advertisements that allow you to demonstrate your skills and experience.
Session 3: Completing the application. We’ll talk through any questions you have about the application, how to answer parts you’re not sure about and explore any doubts you’re having about your ability to add value in this role. By the end of this third coaching session you’ll be able to submit your application feeling confident about your chances.
Session 4: Preparation for the interview. We’ll use the information they’ve sent you about the interview to understand what they’re looking for through the interview process and how you’re going to evidence it. By the end of this final coaching session you’ll be ready to share your wealth of experience and insight into how you can add value to the role you’re applying for.
The package includes email support in between sessions and one additional 15 minute conversation at any point over the time we work together.
What will we do in our coaching sessions:
Session 1: The first thing we’ll do is make sure you’re clear on what coaching is and how it can help you. Then we’ll get to grips with what’s driving your desire to move roles. Sometimes the reasons behind our decisions are not as they immediately appear. We’ll also explore organisations and roles that you’re considering to understand how they match your career aspirations. Once we’ve understood what motivates you, we will be much clearer on the work we need to do together.
Session 2: We will go through a job advertisement together to identify what’s important to the organisation and work out if you have what they’re looking for. Things are not always as they seem with job advertisements and so knowing how to read them is very important.
Session 3: We will work through a completed cover letter or application where you showcase how you meet the job description and person specification. This will allow us to see how it matches what motivates you.
Session 4: We will focus on articulating how the organisation stands to benefit by having you in the role. After all, they’ve already decided that you have what they’re looking for so that’s 90% of the way to getting the job.
Working with me as a coach will involve me asking you reflective questions to find out what you’re thinking and feeling about the things that are important to you. Some of these questions may feel challenging but it is the power of asking the questions we daren’t ask ourselves that moves us forward. I will also offer guidance and share my insights with you which will help you begin to see things differently.
